Many hours were spent on the porches watching the ocean and talking with family, friends, and neighbors. The Fred Wood Cottage is known to have the best front porch on the east coast! Inside you'll feel the history continue with the wood-paneled walls and wooden floors and charming decor. This historic home is sure to be a family favorite year after year. Fred Wood Cottage was built to withstand the elements and keep families comfortable during the summer. Take the sandy path to the beach and enjoy a day basking in the sun, surfing, swimming, and searching for seashells and sea glass. Fantastic Porches & Historic Home
I really liked this quirky old house. The porches and location cannot be beat. Excellent communication and service from Costal Carolina Vacations. I would definitely rent Fred Wood Cottage again.

Perfect old nags head experience

Cottage History
It was wonderful to imagine what life at the cottage was like in 1930's Nags Head, without AC. No matter. The ocean breeze and magnificent wrap around porches, keep it cool. What a treasure. It was a real treat to enjoy time in a cottage from a day gone by..

Rustic, charming and perfect.
This rustic gem was perfect for our stay at the beach. It could use some improvements but is still perfect for the beach. It had everything we needed and is just a few steps off the back porch to the ocean. I laid in my bed upstairs and watched the waves crash. We hope to come back to this same house again next year.

Take A Step Back In Time
Be prepared to take a step back in time with this beautifully preserved cottage built in the 1930's. Great A/C and amenities. Wood paneling throughout. The absolute best thing is the HUGE wrap around deck and peaceful view of the beach and waves crashing. We absolutely loved our experience and Everett with coastal carolina was an excellent communicator making our experience even better. Great place! Thanks for listing it!!

Great Service!
We loved the beach house. It was quaint, and had a great location. We had issues with the power on day 5. The Coastal Carolina staff was very accommodating and arranged for us to move into another nearby property. The transition was seamless, and the service team did a great job of communicating with us. Would definitely recommend.

Best family cottage on the beach
We had the best time at this cottage on the beach. Loved how quaint and rustic it was. Loved the wood walls and floors. Felt like a mountain cabin at the beach. It was so beautiful and quiet and the kids had a blast. Right across the street was awesome pizza place and it was so close to so many of the sights we never had to stray far. Very clean and homey. Had everything we needed. We will be back again.
